There are more conventional ways to obtain a legal education than launching a private prosecution against someone - law school comes to mind — but certainly none of them are as cost-effective. While annual tuition at Dal’s Schulich School of Law is in the neighbourhood of $18,000, a private prosecution only requires time, and perhaps a few hundred dollars in filing fees.
