The Mounties always get their tweets

The slew of pedestrian/vehicle collisions over one recent week in Halifax is proof enough that many local drivers and cross-walkers carry a general disregard for their own safety, let alone that of others.
In an attempt to tackle continuing collision calamities, along with speeding and distracted driving, the regional Queen’s Cowboys recently went digital in a safety campaign.

Ten years ago, 11 actually, we did a feature interview with Bill Jessome.

Bill, who died last week at 88 years, was a very spry 76-year-old at the time. We met at his favourite pancake house on Kempt Road, later moving to his home on Quinn Street.

We chatted over breakfast, then more coffee.

Mothers, don’t let your babies grow up to by sports ‘reporters’

I am telling you I am seeing far too much sports copy on P. 1 of the Chronicle Herald these last few weeks, OK.

Jeez, I know I went off there, a couple a weeks ago, basically saying that a lifetime of work as a sports “reporter” ain’t worth a bowl of warm piss. But, hey, I get it!
