If ya got the cash, you’re in the clear

The Parole Board of Canada has good news for any former convicts looking to scrub their record clean: there are now only 19,025 backlogged applications to process “up to the eligibility stage.”

That’s down from the roughly 22,500 backlogged applications announced earlier this spring.

No answers on jail death

New Brunswick’s Public Safety Department is not releasing details surrounding the prison death of a Nova Scotia man who was awaiting trial in New Brunswick. 

On Tuesday, May 28, Adam Lee Steven Prest was found “unresponsive” in his cell at the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre, and was pronounced dead a short time after.
