Halifax Regional Police officers and a herd of HRM Mounties recently laced up their skates and played in a charity hockey tournament in Boston against Beantown cops and smoke-eaters.

The September 29 tourney raised about $10,000 for officers who were injured or killed during the Boston Marathon bombing manhunt.

Kiddie porn man gets to keep his guns

According to the Nova Scotia Court of Appeals, you can be convicted of possessing child pornography and still be a proud gun owner.

On August 8, Justice Tim Gabriel concluded that Chief Firearms Officer R. Bruce MacDonald overstepped his reach when he revoked Joseph Peter-Paul’s firearms licence after he was found guilty of possessing child pornography.
