Many people in Dartmouth — not to mention the Rest of HRM — might think Gloria McCluskey deserves better. The former City of Lakes mayor and HRM councillor retired last year from local politics after 20-plus years of service. But she’s not collecting a pension for her time on HRM Council. Apparently, at 72 she was too old when she joined in 2004 to be eligible.

LG sworn in, for some reason...

We aren’t sure why we need him, but Nova Scotia’s 33rd Lieutenant Governor has nevertheless been sworn in. Arthur Joseph Leblanc is the first person of Acadian heritage to occupy the position.
