...and Scott B. as First Gentleman of District 5?

Scott Boyd is auditioning for yet another new role, that of political wife. Er, I mean, husband.

Leah Boyd, who I believe to be the former BT host/failed political candidate’s third wife, is seeking the District 5 seat (Northend/Downtown Sydney) on CBRM Council.

Tom Wilson currently represents the area, but he’ll be seeking to represent the new District 6.

Rumours have been swirling over who will challenge Owen Fitzgerald for CBRM mayor now that John Morgan is out of the running, and, along with Ray Paruch — who is being pressured to run by various factions — the name I heard most commonly throughout the month of August was that of federal Tory also-ran Cecil Clarke.

House-lifter Norm comes out on top

House-lifter Norm comes out on top

The lawsuit and counter-claim between Sydney-based company Norman Bushell House Moving and Laurie Plante and Ronald Carlson of Glace Bay have been resolved, with both parties having to fork out some cashola to each other.

As first reported by my organ way back in Frank 625, in 2010 Laurie and Ronald hired Norman to lift their home up and install a proper foundation beneath it.
