News 95.7’s Richard Zurawski, part of the staff at the station since it went on the air in 2005, seems to be a glutton for punishment. He has decided to run for political office, again.
Now, where was I?
By the time you read this, Jamie Paterson will have shuffled off the airwaves at 89.9 The Wave. It’s that station up the dial that nobody listens to. But I digress.
I hear that Jamie has taken a full time job with Stats Canada.
CTV has been busy laying off management across the country. Eighty-odd positions have been declared redundant, or have been absorbed into other positions, and more layoffs are in the offing. Mike Elgie, the long-time Atlantic Canada veep, is no longer with the company. His duties have been taken over by C100/The Bounce GM Trent McGrath.
I’m so happy for this guy. Chris Pottie was let go by Evanov’s Live 105 last Christmas, along with, er, pretty much everyone else. But now he’s back behind the mic doing afternoon drive on Live’s sister station, which just flipped from Energy 103.5 to Country 103.5.
Just in time for the September ratings period, Evanov has re-hired former program director J.D. Desrosiers. He’s tasked with trying to revive Live 105 from its ratings doldrums, after euthanizing Energy 103 and replacing it with Hot Country 103.5.
