I’ve been thinking about CBC Radio One’s Maritime Noon a lot lately. In fact, I think I give more thought to the program than the people who put it together.
My perception is that host Norma Lee MacLeod and her producer arrive to work every morning, realize they have to put a show on the air in three hours, and run around like mad trying to find things to talk about.

Long ago C100/CJCH morning man John Biggs once told me about a young man who worked at an Ontario radio station. Everybody liked him. He worked prodigiously hard. Never caused anybody any problems.
Turned out that they needed a new studio. The cost of building that studio was about the same as this guy’s salary.
So they fired him.
