Seven years ago, she was teaching English in Milan, Italy, one of the cultural and high fashion capitals of the world. Population: 1.5 million.
Then she came home. Home to Main-a-Dieu, Cape Breton. Population: 230. She traded Milan Fashion Week for the May Main-a-Dieu Blessing of the Lobster Fleet.
By any measure Joe Stewart was a character.
His personality was as big as his girth, as big as his laugh. He was quick with the one-liners and slow to pay his taxes.
And, boy, could he fill a church.
Joe died of a heart attack at his Antigonish County home on the evening of Friday, September 30.
A proper law abiding, bi-weekly family magazine should always keep a watchful gaze over such grand enterprises as the Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service.
That said, I couldn’t help but take a peek at the PPS’s 2015-16 so-called “Accountability Report,” covering end of the fiscal year, March 31, 2016.
